George Thomas Hospice Care

The George Thomas Hospice provide care and support for terminally ill patients in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. They help patients to remain in their own homes as far as possible, and to have maximum control over the managment of their illness. Support is also available for the patient's carers.

My mother, Elinor Kapp, is a founding and active member of the George Thomas Trust, and kindly invited me to the opening of their new building: Ty George Thomas. It was opened by their patron, the Prince of Wales, and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall. I was very proud of my mother as she introduced the Prince to some of the staff, and I took a couple of snaps on my camera-phone:

Reginald Kapp: Science vs. Materialism

My (maternal) grandfather Reginald Kapp was an engineer, philosopher, and author. Only one of his books ("Presentation of Technical Information") is currently in print, and with the expiration of copyright approaching, my family (orchestrated by my uncle John Kapp) have started to make all his books available on the internet.

The first book to be made available is "Science vs. Materialism". The book's premise is best summarised in Professor Kapp's own words:
