I found this linked from Don Box’s weblog (is there a word for a link to a link?). It makes me feel a little queasy, but I like it.

HEdit 3.0

http://www.yurisw.com/HEdit.htm

A geeky blog wouldn't be the same without a link to my favourite Hex Editor. This one is free (for read-only at least), effortlessly handles files of any size, and applies type context to the data under the cursor (e.g. if this data was a float, what float would it be?).

For some reason Yuri Software don't have any links to this page, but I stumbled across it using Google.

Easybits.com

I came across this program on the BBC's website. It is a child-friendly shell for Windows suitable for children aged 2 and up. My son recently turned 2 and loves getting his sticky fingers on the computer, and I have been looking for a suitable introduction to the world of computers. I will revisit this post when Magic Desktop has been destruction tested by the boy.

Mission statement

I have recently got interested in weblogs, and thought I might find one useful. I already have a website, but, because I am so fussy about what I put up, it is almost completely devoid of content. Hopefully the informality of a weblog will encourage me to participate.

My intention is to record things that interest me. They may interest you, they may not. It will probably become an online version of my "favourites" folder, so don't expect a great deal of novel or riveting content.
